Spelling words each week. We will take our Post test on Thursday.
ELA reading log each week AND 20 minutes of free reading every week night
Math homework will be sent home as needed for reinforcement of skills. Please check the daily planner link.
Social Studies and Science work will completed during class most of the time. Students will rotate science and social studies classes as we rotate weekly for each class. Occasionally there will be homework in both classes. Please check our daily planner.

HOMEWORK POLICY
As we move throughout third grade, our homework expectations will change to help prepare your child for success in the upper grades. Please review our homework policies below for each quarter.

As we move throughout third grade, our homework expectations will change to help prepare your child for success in the upper grades. Please review our homework policies below for each quarter.
Quarter 1:
- Reading log: Students will complete weekly reading logs assignments. Reading logs are due each Friday. Students not completing these assignments will be required to complete at recess until the assignment is complete. Full credit will be earned for late these assignments.
- Daily homework assignments may be sent home when students do not complete during time allotted in class. These assignments will be due the following morning. Students not completing work, will be required to complete at recess for full credit.
- Book Reports will NOT be accepted late as students have 30 days to complete this assignment
Quarter 2:
- The same policy will remain in effect but late assignments will earn only half the original credit.
Quarter 3:
- Students will begin making the transition from print to cursive writing. Half of daily work will be required to be written in cursive
Quarter 4:
- We will be finishing our review of cursive and will expect students to be able to read & write cursive on most assignments by the end of the quarter.
- Students are expected to be prepared and have homework completed the day it is due. Students not turning in regular assigned homework will be required to complete at recess for half credit.
- Long term assignments such as book reports, weekly vocabulary homework, and will not have extended work time and students will earn a zero.
